F.C. Copenhagen buy Robert Silva
Robert Silva's loan agreement at F.C. Copenhagen will be converted into a five-year permanent deal that runs until December 2029.
The Brazilian winger joined Copenhagen last summer from Cruzeiro on a one-year loan agreement with a purchase option, which F.C. Copenhagen have now triggered.
Robert: 'I love when we play games in Parken
"I am happy and proud that I've managed to convince the coaches and the sporting director to keep me here in Copenhagen. The first six months have gone much better than I could have dreamed of. I had expected it to take a bit longer to get used to a new style of playing and being away from Brazil and my family."
Robert is very close to his family, which is why he invited them all to Copenhagen for the announcement of his contract. It's a deal that he is very proud of.
"I have received a lot of trust from the coach, and my teammates have been fantastic in welcoming me. I love when we play games in Parken, and I feel a special joy when so many people come to watch us play. I really appreciate the support I get everywhere in Copenhagen, and I'm really happy in the city.
"Now I have to continue my development as a player, but also work harder to fit even better into the team, the tactics and playing in Europe. 2025 should bring more goals, more assists, more dribbles and more smiles from me."
Sune: A deserved deal
Robert, 19, has played 17 games for F.C. Copenhagen so far, with three goals and three assists to his name.
Sporting director Sune Smith-Nielsen says of the deal:
”Robert deserves great praise because he has shown that he is a player with top international talent, who has shown in a very short time what we can look forward to in the future. It is great for him to take those steps in such a short time at F.C. Copenhagen.
“In addition, we must reserve praise for the scouting team for spotting Robert and insisting that he was a player who would make it at F.C. Copenhagen. It's been a good piece of work all round and further proof of the quality within our scouting team.
"Last but not least, we need to praise the coaching team, who in a short time have transformed Robert into a player who can compete for playing time on an equal footing with the rest of the squad. They have given him the freedom he needs to become a decisive player several times. I am really pleased when these three things go hand in hand."
Neestrup: Robert has taken big steps
FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup, meanwhile, together with the rest of the coaching team, has followed Robert very closely, and he is pleased to be able to continue working with the playmaker.
"Robert has taken exactly the steps we hoped for when he came to Copenhagen. He has shown patience, a great desire to learn and he enjoys dribbling, scoring goals and making assists," says Neestrup.
"There is still a long way to go for such a young player, and he must continue to be humble, be willing to learn and be ready to train. But if he continues as he has started, we can look forward to seeing him create lots of joy in Parken in the future."
