'I never imagined this day would come' – Stamenic

Marko Stamenic says it was a dream come true to make his UEFA Champions League debut in Wednesday's goalless clash between F.C. Copenhagen and Sevilla.

But the 20-year-old New Zealander is already looking ahead to the next game, and wants to build on the experience of playing in front of a packed Parken crowd.

"I never imagined this day would come," says Stamenic. "I've been watching the Champions League throughout my childhood, and knowing how rare it is for a New Zealander to play in the Champions League. We've only had two or three players do it.

"So it's a huge achievement both for myself and my family, and I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunities I have and hope to build on this."
