Neestrup: We could have won the derby

F.C. Copenhagen battled out a goalless draw at Brøndby on Sunday to earn a point in the Copenhagen derby and push their unbeaten league form to five games.

Boss Jacob Neestrup said after the match: "All in all, I'm satisfied with a point, although of course we would have liked to have brought all three home to Copenhagen.

"We were closest to winning at the end, where we went more offensive and knew from previous games here that we could get something late on. Elyounoussi came close but 0-0 is probably fair for the match as a whole.

"I have to admit that from the outside it was probably a boring game, but it has to be like that sometimes when it was our second difficult away game in less than three days.

"We wanted it to be a close game that we couldn't lose. Last season we probably would have lost a game like this instead of getting a draw, but we're getting better and better at avoiding that in games like this, where we gave away very few chances. But of course we would have liked to win, that goes without saying when it's a derby.

"And although the technical level was not high today for either team, there was still plenty of intensity and hard tackles and everything that also helps make a derby something special.

"But as I said, we are fine with getting one point, just like we did on Thursday, where we also wanted to win, but we were solid there too and avoided going home with nothing."

Next up for FCK is a trip to SønderjyskE in the Danish Cup on Wednesday, before the Lions host Silkeborg in the Superliga on Monday 4 November.
