Carlsberg becomes first official partner of F.C. Copenhagen Women
F.C. Copenhagen and Carlsberg have strengthened one of Danish football's longest-running partnerships with an agreement that includes the newly-established F.C. Copenhagen Women side.
When F.C. Copenhagen's first ever women's team tale to the field in August, the players will have Carlsberg on their back and on the sleeve. Preparations for the long-awaited premiere are well under way, and F.C. Copenhagen are proud to present Carlsberg as the first partner for F.C. Copenhagen Women.
"We are very happy that we can once again work on this completely unique partnership between Carlsberg and F.C. Copenhagen. We have big ambitions with our women's team – both from a sports perspective and commercially – and the fact Carlsberg will help support our project means a lot to the foundation we are building for women's football," says Mikkel Grove Lindsted, commercial director of F.C. Copenhagen.
Historic partnership
Carlsberg and F.C. Copenhagen have collaborated on a partnership for decades. The new agreement regarding the women's team builds a completely new element to the relationship that started in 1999.
"Together we must bring the women's team forward and ensure the best conditions for a successful development of the women's game. For us, this is both about F.C. Copenhagen's women's team and Danish women's football in general, which must receive far more attention and support. It's great to be part of creating another strong relationship in the capital," says Carlsberg Denmark's CEO, Peter Haahr Nielsen.
Aim to inspire women and girls in the world of football
The agreement means Carlsberg's logo will adorn the women's shirt sleeves and also offers several initiatives to create renewed interest in women's football in Denmark and in Copenhagen.
"We agree to use our collaboration to create more hype around women's football and hopefully contribute to more girls becoming aware of football and wanting to try it out. When we secure a strong brand for F.C. Copenhagen's women's team, it will naturally create a greater reach that can inspire women and girls in the world of football," says Mikkel Grove Lindsted.
The agreement runs until the summer of 2029, and the initiatives will be continuously rolled out – some in collaboration with F.C. Copenhagen fans.
