Rikke Sevecke appointed FCK Women assistant coach
Rikke Sevecke has been appointed the new assistant coach for F.C. Copenhagen Women, replacing Freja Nielsen, who has left her role for personal reasons.
Rikke, 28, was hired as a transition coach at F.C. Copenhagen in November 2024, and she is delighted to now take a new step in a coaching career that began last year, when she had to finish her professional football career due to a heart condition.
"It's really exciting to expand my role around the team and I'm looking forward to taking on the role of assistant coach," says Rikke. "It's another step on the road in my coaching journey, and I'm very happy that this is exactly where I get to take that step.
"I hope to be able to contribute even more to the team when I am now involved in all training and matches. This applies both as a coach with a focus on the tactical elements and with my own experiences as a player on and off the field."
Klarskov: A huge resource
Rikke earned 54 senior caps for Denmark and played for Everton and Portland Thorns FC, among others, during her career. FCK Women head coach Kasper Klarskov is looking forward to bringing this experience closer to the women's team.
"I'm really happy that we will now have Rikke even closer to the team in her new role as assistant coach," says Kasper.
"She has already made a big difference as a transition coach, and with her strong professional background and the experience she brings with her from her time as a professional player, she will be a huge resource for both players and coaching staff."
Rikke began her new role on 1 April and will experience her first home match as assistant coach on Saturday at 2pm, when FCK Women face Varde IF at Vanløse Idrætspark. Admission is free, and you can also stream this and future home matches in the F.C. Copenhagen app and on tv.fck.dk.
