Fans break F.C. Copenhagen attendance record
F.C. Copenhagen fans broke the club's attendance record at Parken Stadium on Monday with 33,758 supporters in the ground to watch the 2-0 victory over Brøndby.
The previous stadium record for an FCK game since the stadium's rebuild in 2009 was set three years ago, when 33,134 spectators watched the Lions secure the championship.
"We are very proud that we set a new record," says FCK director Jacob Lauesen.
"It is proof that we are really on the right track in the stands, on the pitch and in the back office too, which combined has produced the improvements we are witnessing."
Spectator averages in Parken this season are also at a record high. Following Monday's derby, the average attendance for FCK Superliga games is 23,740, which would be a league record. The current record was set in 2006/07 in Parken, where the average stood at 22,667.
"That record is about to fall, and we still have three home games to go, where we will seek even greater attendances," adds Jacob.
"This is about us as a club and fans working together to set a new milestone with our spectator numbers, and to make it as high as possible. Therefore, we hope to see a lot of people in Parken again on Sunday for an important match against Randers."
