F.C. Copenhagen appoint Wolves performance analyst Andrew Findlay
F.C. Copenhagen have appointed English performance analyst Andrew Findlay from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Findlay began his first working day for FCK at the Number 10 training ground on Thursday.
He was previously the Head of Performance analyst at Premier League side Wolves, where he worked closely alongside manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
He is tasked with analysing upcoming opponents and the current FCK squad to better prepare Ståle Solbakken's men for Superliga and European matches.
“We have hired a highly skilled expert in Andrew, who will help us grow a lot in this area," Ståle said.
"Of course, we are always looking to be able to improve and create the best conditions for the players, and Andrew will be able to do this with his video analyses of our own game, the opponents, and also individual players.
"At the same time, we get a person who has proven that he has great knowledge of the many technological tools that are available today, and he can bring them deeper into our daily work among the coaching staff.
"Andrew comes with a really strong CV, and I think it tells a little about our club that we have received an application from him among many other talented people.
"We are proud of that, and Andrew proved to be outstanding in the conversations with us.
"At a young age he has worked at the two big Manchester clubs and most recently was head of the analysis department at Wolverhampton during their most successful period.
"We are very much looking forward to having Andrew among the staff and learning from his many inputs."
As previously mentioned, Andrew Findlay has worked as a Performance Analyst under managers such as Louis Van Gaal, David Moyes and José Mourinho at Manchester United, as well as working for the Irish and Scottish Football Association.
But now a new era awaits in Copenhagen.
“First of all, I am incredibly happy and proud to have the opportunity to work at F.C. Copenhagen," Andrew said.
"It is a club with a very strong identity. The club has delivered really strong results, and has impressed when coming up against some of the best in the world.
"It is an exciting opportunity I have been given, and I look forward to helping to further boost the technological opportunities that are available today.
"It will be a fun job, and I look forward to helping the staff and the players develop further."
