More young talents join F.C. Copenhagen Women
F.C. Copenhagen Women started training on 22 July, and many young talents are fighting to be part of the first home game on 17 August.
Rebecca Steele: We focus on Talent Development
"At F.C. Copenhagen, we are very invested in developing young talents so they can compete at the highest level both in Denmark and internationally in a few years. Therefore it aligns well with this strategy to start in the 2nd Division, as we hope the players can grow alongside the project," says Rebecca Steele, Head of Women's Football at FCK.
"In addition to the Women's Team, we are also creating an academy for the most talented girls. We have decided to build it from scratch in order to give us the best opportunities to do things our way.
"In developing the academy, we draw on all the existing experiences within the club, and we seek inspiration abroad, adopting the best solutions we find."
FCK can announce three more players have joined the team ahead of the new season. Check out their profiles below:
Mathilde Hemdorff Andersen
Mathilde Hemdorff Andersen, 16, has previously played for FC Nordsjælland. She is a winger who possesses a lot of speed.
"I look forward to helping establish F.C. Copenhagen Women and creating dreams for young talented girls," she says.
"F.C. Copenhagen is the best opportunity for me to develop as much as possible as a football player. The start has been fantastic, and everything is very ambitious, which is extremely important to me."
Emma Brandt
Emma Brandt, 17, has represented Denmark in youth internationals, as well as having played league football with HB Køge. She has a solid left foot and plenty of speed, and her favorite position is on the wing.
"Playing for F.C. Copenhagen is a dream come true for me," says Brandt.
"From the start, you can feel how ambitious this project is and how great an experience it is to be a part of it. The intensity is high, and the energy is positive all around, and I'm very much looking forward to starting the league."
Svava Mørk
Svava Mørk, 19, joins the team having played for FC Damsø. Her strengths on the pitch are her technique, game understanding and finishing, and she can play both midfield and up front.
"I look forward to creating many fantastic experiences and memories with the team and the fans," says Mørk.
"For me, it's also a great joy to be part of a team unity with humor, togetherness lifelong friendships. When I enter the pitch, it's always to win, and that mentality will only be boosted by having an FCK logo on the jersey – because that comes with obligations."
