Neestrup impressed as FCK beat Dinamo Minsk 2-1

F.C. Copenhagen secured a big three points in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday with a 2-1 win over Dinamo Minsk in the empty stadium in Azerbaijan.

Mohamed Elyounoussi put the Lions ahead just six minutes in following a well-worked move, only for Raymond Adeola to level things up shortly afterwards.

Kevin Diks' penalty on 55 minutes decided the game, however, after Viktor Claesson was felled in the box.

After the game FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup said: “We got what we came for, and there’s really nothing more to say about that.

“It's what it was all about today, against a difficult opponent who we knew would defend well. We’ve seen that in the other European games they’ve played, and they did that today too.

“It was a game where we had to set the pace and we managed to do that in patches, but not over the entire 90 minutes, because we lost the rhythm a bit too often. But we fully deserved to win, and somewhere or other the victory was never really in danger.

"We scored a great goal to make it 1-0, where Claesson and Elyounoussi combined well, and Robert and Claesson did well leading up to the penalty. I'm really grateful that we have a penalty taker in Kevin Diks who can continue to deliver like he has done, and like Diogo did before him. It has given us many important goals."

Next up for FCK is a home clash against FC Nordsjælland on Monday night in Parken, with tickets on general sale.

"Now it's just a matter of getting home and then looking towards playing against Nordsjælland in Parken on Monday in front of a lot of fans in the stands."
