Neestrup reacts to Silkeborg draw

Jacob Neestrup says it was two points dropped for the Lions after they conceded in the final minute of Monday's Superliga clash with Silkeborg to draw 2-2 in Parken.

Tonni Adamsen cancelled out Andreas Cornelius's second-minute header in the danish capital, before Kevin Diks converted a penalty for the Lions one minute into stoppage time.

It looked as though FCK would hold on for the three points until Alexander Simmelhack popped up with a 99th-minute leveller for the visitors.

After the game, which saw the Lions record 20 shots, Neestrup said: "It's hard to understand how we don't score more goals, because it's impossible to create more open opportunities continuously over 100 minutes.

"The of the match is what it is, it can happen when an opponent gets a corner at the end and there are 22 men in the box. It's just a ball that lands in the wrong place and then it goes wrong. It can happen for everyone once in a while.

"But I'm left with huge disappointment that it's two points lost, two gigantic points lost. We just have to admit that. It would have hurt even more if we'd played badly, but we were consistently good today, our high pressure did very well, we won a lot of balls and we created many, many chances in open play. We jus could get the goal to go 2-0 up, as then it could have gone really well today.

"After the game I said to the players that on the one hand we have to continue like this, because we are in a good run in terms of performance. Today we also hit a high top level in many things, I think, but of course it is disappointing that we didn't get the three points that we should have.

"So we have to go on, and we have to take the disappointment. We've experienced this before after very dominant games, both this one and in our first UEFA Conference League game in Parken.

"We also have to understand that it's a cynical league, and right now we're not a particularly cynical football team in front of goal. We have to convert the chances that we create.

"Today the lads did everything they could and I can't ask for more, although of course it's a shame that we give away two stupid goals. But we created plenty of opportunities to score many more goals and win it here, so it was two lost points today."

Next up for FCK is Thursday's home clash with Istanbul Basaksehir in Parken on Thursday for the Lions' third Conference League match of the autumn. Tickets are on sale for the game.
