New Parken pitch work begins
Work on a new pitch at Parken Stadium that includes a total overhaul of the under-layers has begun.
This marks the biggest investment in the quality of the pitch since the stadium was inaugurated in 1992, and which in the coming months will raise the standard of the playing surface considerably.
New drainage, heating and irrigation systems
The investment means that the entire area under the pitch will now be dug up, to a depth of at least half a metre. After this, a completely new infrastructure will be established under the grass.
This means that a new drainage and heating system will be installed, which will cover 7,630 m2. In addition, a completely new irrigation system will be established, where a new water tank will be dug, which can contain 50,000 litres of water.
Hybrid grass ready for the spring season
After that, a completely new hybrid turf will also be laid. It will be ready for F.C. Copenhagen's first game in 2023, when we meet AaB in Parken on Sunday 26 February (exact fixture date not yet finalised).
