Ståle: We will not play tiki-taka football
FC Copenhagen manager Ståle Solbakken insists the Lions are not in Prague to play tiki-take football.
FCK face Slavia Prague in the Europa League tonight (9pm) and the Copenhagen boss wants a response after our defeat in the reverse game in Telia Parken.
"Well, we are in trouble with a defeat," he said. "We need points if we are to move higher in the group, because if we lose we are in big trouble."
Asked if he had the team ready for the game, Ståle said: "No, I have not settled on my team yet so I cannot answer yet. But there will not be too many changes from our last match."
Discussing the game on Thursday night, Ståle added: "All three of our matches have been close, and in our first fight against Slavia we had a few chances. They are aggressive, they are strong, they run a lot, they fight a lot and they have a lot of muscle in their squad.
"They are aggressive, they are strong"
"In the match in Telia Park against Slavia we often missed the last piece that could have given us a chance and it should be improved. We have had a fantastic defensive base in all three matches, except for the last 10 minutes against Bordeaux.
"Otherwise we have been close to perfectly clean defensively. We have not allowed many chances against us, and I want that to continue.
"I think Slavia from the first whistle will come hard against us with their high-tempo football. We shall close that down. I do not think there will be many chances tomorrow, but when there are chances we'll be effective."
No tiki-taka
The manager then went on to stress his side will be looking for the result in the Czech capital.
"We must be better delivering the ball when we get into the right areas. If we we get away from where they mark man-to-man, we will get some space," he said.
"But they have been strong and have been the best team in the group. We need to focus on ourselves and we should not go around believing we can play tiki-taka around them, so that they snatch the ball in dangerous areas for us.
"We need to balance in our game, we must be defensively strong and must be good at set pieces at both ends of the pitch."
Zeca targets win
FCK star Carlos Zeca was also at Wednesday's press conference to discuss the upcoming game.
"Tomorrow's game is of course very important, because the outcome of the home game against Slavia Prague was not the desired result," Zeca said.
"Now we have the battle tomorrow to change the situation, because even though we have two more matches, the fight against Slavia is of course very important - and it is also our plan that we will win tomorrow night."
