Andrija Pavlovic signs for FC Copenhagen
FC Copenhagen can today confirm the signing of striker Andrija Pavlovic from Serbian club FK Cukaricki.
Pavlovic, 22, has signed a five-year contract with the Danish champions.
“We are very pleased that we beat several other clubs to sign Andrija Pavlovic for FC Copenhagen,” FCK technical director Johan Lange told fck.dk.
“We have followed him throughout the season in his native Serbia, where he has performed extremely well with 18 league goals and his debut for the national team.
“In addition to his many goals, Andrija Pavlovic is a strong striker with a very good mix of technique and physicality.
“We are also pleased to have this transfer in place early ahead of our preparations for the upcoming season.”
Pavlovic, who boasts two caps for Serbia, will wear the no. 23 shirt at FCK.
He started his career at Serbian SuperLiga club FK Rad before moving to Cukaricki in 2014.
“We are very pleased to have attracted a young and exciting player with such success abroad,” said manager Ståle Solbakken.
“It is a strong signal to send and Copenhagen will benefit from Andrija Pavlovic both in the short and long term.
“He comes to Copenhagen to provide immediate competition for Nicolai Jørgensen and the other strikers.
“So far we have not received a satisfactory bid for Nicolai and his advisors know what it takes for us to let Nicolai leave.
“So the fact is that Nicolai remains an FCK'er and that we as of today have a very strong and competitive attacking unit.”
