Ståle: Zilina a team we should be able to beat
FC Copenhagen’s first day back from the summer break was also met with news of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round draw.
FCK will play Slovakian champions MSK Zilina for a place in the third qualifying round.
And manager Ståle Solbakken is glad the Lions will play away in the first leg.
"I do not know them especially well but our scouts have seen them and know them so we'll probably get updated quickly,” Ståle said, reacting to the draw.
"It's an advantage that we play the second game at home but we could have got a far better draw. But regardless of that, MSK Zilina are a team we should be able to beat.”
Monday was the first day back for most of the players after the summer break and they were put through their paces at FCK’s Number 10 training ground.
Ståle said: “The players have only come back today, except Pieros Sotiriou, who will arrive in a few day’s time. There will be physical training this week and we will save the tactical stuff until we travel to Austria for our training camp next week.”
Of the players returning to Number 10, FCK were able to welcome back Pierre Bengtsson after he re-signed this summer, while Mads Roerslev also got familiar with his new surroundings.
But how does it look on the injury front?
"Tom Høgli and Nicolai Boilesen are fully fit now,” Ståle said.
“But Rasmus Falk and Peter Ankersen will not return until the first international break (in September).”
The players will not train on Thursday and Sunday this week and the squad will head to Austria for their training camp next Tuesday.
