Andrija Pavlovic sold to Rapid Wien
F.C. Copenhagen have agreed to sell Andrija Pavlovic to Rapid Wien from the coming season. Pavlovic joined Copenhagen in the summer of 2016 from Serbian Cukaricki, and has since played 83 games and scored 22 goals.
”Andrija's first season in Copenhagen went very well, and he scored spectacular and important goals for us, for instance in the Champions League-playoff against APOEL FC and in the derby against Brøndby," says manager Ståle Solbakken.
"In this season he was also a key player in our European progress and scored a hattrick in our first game against Zilina, but during the season he has not been able to maintain his place. He is in a phase of his career where he wants to be first choice, and we can't offer him that, whereas Rapid Wien can. Therefore this transfer makes good sense for everyone, and we get a reasonable fee which can be higher depending on his further career in Austria.
"Andrija will stay here for the rest of the season, and we know he will do what he can to contribute to the team, and then we say goodbye after the season and wish him all the best in the future."
Pavlovic himself is looking forward to playing a bigger role at Rapid.
"I have had a good time in F.C. Copenhagen and the city. I have learned a lot from my coaches and teammates, which I can take with me, and I am thankful to them for the experiences we have had together," says Andrija.
"Now I will finish my work here, and then I look forward to getting a more significant role in Rapid Wien, which is a great club in Austria and who have shown a big interest in me.
"I would like to thank the fans at F.C. Copenhagen, who have made me feel very welcome in the city, and for sure I'll follow the club in the future."
Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen wishes Andrija all the best in the future and thanks him for his efforts at the club.
