FCK sign Mikkel Kaufmann immediately

F.C. Copenhagen have decided to use an option in the agreement with AaB for Mikkel Kaufmann to join our squad from today.

The 19-year old forward was last week presented as an incoming FCK player from the summer of 2020.

But manager Ståle Solbakken explains why we now have decided to effect the change immediately.

"We want to be absolutely sure that we are well covered in all positions this spring," Ståle said.

"It was always an option in the agreement if we wanted it. Now we get the opportunity to work with Mikkel at our winter training camp, and he'll get better conditions to begin his time with the squad and the club in a good way.

"Kaufmann has been on our radar for a long time, and after his good autumn season with AaB, we thought the time was right.

"We see a great potential in him and believe that he can be developed to succeed at international level, so we look forward to having him here."

Kaufmann was recently on AaB's training camp in Spain, and he is now on his way to Portugal to sign his papers and join the FCK squad.

Kaufmann will wear jersey no. 29 for the Lions.
