UEFA: Plan to complete European tournaments
F.C. Copenhagen will play the return game of our UEFA Europa League last-16 clash with Istanbul Basaksehir on 5 or 6 August.
The decision has been made following plans drawn up by UEFA to complete the European football schedules of both the Champions League and Europa League.
European football was put on hold in March due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The announcement was made after the UEFA Executive Committee discussed the situation. UEFA has not yet decided on whether the match will be played in Copenhagen or not.
Final Eight competition
UEFA did, however, confirm that the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the Europa League will be held in a 'Final Eight' competition.
Teams will play only one match per tie and the plan is to host games in Germany (Cologne, Duisburg, Düsseldorf and Gelsenkirchen) in the period of 10 to 21 August.
