Kamil Wilczek: I have great memories of Piast Gliwice

Kamil Wilczek has more reason than most to look forward to F.C. Copenhagen's UEFA Europa League qualifier with Piast Gliwice on Thursday.

FCK striker Wilczek has played for Gliwice during two stints in his career.

The 32-year-old first moved to the Polish side in 2008, where he played for one season before moving on to Zaglebie Lubin.

He returned to the club in 2013 and bagged 29 goals in 70 games before heading to Italian side Carpi.

"I have really good memories from there and I still have a lot of good relationships in the club," said Wilczek.

"It was two very different periods I was in. The first was my first time in the top tier (in Poland) and it was a challenging time for both me and the club, as the team ended up getting relegated.

"My second period at the club was much more successful. I became the top scorer in the league and it went really well for me personally, so of course I have a lot of good memories from the time after I returned.

"I have watched many of their matches since and follow how they are doing. It has really become a stable club with a very good management.

"They have built sensibly without spending too much money and it is impressive that they have led the club to a championship and to be able to play European football. It will be interesting to play against them on Thursday."

Wilczek has already scored three goals from three FCK matches since arriving in the summer and is keen to add to his tally in Parken on Thursday.

"We have to play with focus and dominate the match. They will be defensive and well-organised, so it will not be an easy task," he said.

"They are strong, but I know we have the qualities to win the game and that is the only thing that counts for us."
