Ståle reacts to 2-2 draw with Vejle
F.C. Copenhagen surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw with Vejle in the last minute of Sunday's Superliga clash.
And manager Ståle Solbakken saw positives and negatives from the performance in Jutland.
"Even though at times we seemed a bit slow in thought and action, we have to close out the match when we are 2-0 up," said Ståle, after the Lions conceded the leveller in stoppage time.
"Today we cannot say that we had the margins against us like last Sunday. Vejle were fresher and more energetic, and we sustained many counterattacks before the break.
"But after the changes we made during the break, we took better control. It was totally deserved that they bagged a draw.
"Our last two matches showed that we were on the right track and we had hoped to build on that today. But maybe the match on Thursday lingered too much in the legs and we should not have played with so many of the same players, considering our preseason and fixture list in recent weeks.
"I still feel that we are on the right track, but we are definitely struggling with things, it is clear to see. Neither the team nor individual players are where we want to be. We train well and the players work hard every day, but we play every three days and the pressure does not diminish when we don't get the results in the Superliga."
Next up for FCK is a UEFA Europa League playoff clash with Croatian side HNK Rijeka at in Parken Stadium at 8pm on Thursday.
"It will be a big challenge on Thursday, both physically and mentally, because it is very pivotal for us to get into the group stage," concluded Ståle.
