Mustapha Bundu: See the first interview
New F.C. Copenhagen striker Mustapha Bundu expressed his delight at joining the Lions side on loan until the summer of 2021.
Bundu, who previously played for AGF before moving to Anderlecht last year, joins up with Jess Thorup's squad for the spring half of the 3F Superliga season.
"I'm happy to be here with the boys," he said. "Everyone knows (FCK) is a big club. I want to come in and help the team win games and put in some good performances. To get as high as we can in the table."
Asked about his experience playing in Denmark earlier in his career – and his knowledge of FCK – Bundu said: "I have a friend here in Jens Stage and we spoke about what's going on in the club, even when I moved to Belgium and Anderlecht. We're not so far from the top. A few good performances and good results and we can get there.
"Jens told me positive things. Since I knew this was going to be the place for me for the next since months, I straight away got on the phone to him and Mohamed Daramy, asking them what to expect, what is it like to be in Copenhagen. They have helped. Since I arrived yesterday I have spent a lot of time with them, talking to them and helping me settle in properly."
Bundu also revealed he is related to 19-year-old Daramy, who impressed during his first full season at FCK last term.
"Yeah! Not everyone knows but he's my second cousin," Bundu said.
"His mum and my mum are related. He's from Sierra Leone and I'm also from there. Funnily enough I didn't know this until I got a call from my uncle, who said 'one of your aunts has a son who plays for F.C. Copenhagen.
"Luckily Mo was playing in Aarhus that weekend for the U19s against AGF. After the game we talked. It was exciting. We've been in touch since that day and luckily now here we're playing for the same team."
