Victor Nelsson sold to Galatasaray
F.C. Copenhagen have sold Victor Nelsson to Turkish club Galatasaray S.K.
Nelsson played two seasons at FCK and made 87 appearances in a Lions jersey, having joined the club from FC Nordsjælland in the summer of 2019.
"Victor has done great for F.C. Copenhagen, and we are delighted that we can now send him on to a new adventure at another big club," says FCK sporting director Peter Christiansen.
"It has always been the plan that Victor would leave when the right bid came for him and FCK, both financially and from a sporting perspective, and the overall package has now been found.
"I think Victor is a good example of a player from the Superliga who has developed during his time at F.C. Copenhagen and played in some big international matches for the club.
"Now he is ready for the next step in his career outside of Denmark, and I am convinced that he will be successful with that. We are happy and proud on his behalf and wish him all the best in the future."
Centre-back Nelsson himself described the move to Galatasaray as a fresh and exciting challenge.
"I have had a fantastic time at FCK with great experiences and formed some strong relationships, so it is of course very meaningful to depart," he said.
"However, it has always been part of the plan that one day I would test myself elsewhere, and now a really interesting opportunity has arisen with Galatasaray, which I think can develop me a lot as both a player and a person.
"I would like to thank all my teammates, the staff and everyone else at FCK for our time together, where I have really felt at home, and I also owe our fans a big thank you for the support I have always felt from them."
Everyone at FCK thanks Victor for his efforts for the club and wishes him all the best in the future.
