Boilesen: We're feeling good
F.C. Copenhagen defender Nicolai Boilesen admits the team could have scored even more but that they're feeling good after Sunday's 2-0 win over SønderjyskE extended the unbeaten start to the season.
Goals from Pep Biel and Jonas Wind secured the three points that lifted FCK to second in the Superliga table.
"The first 10 to 15 minutes we weren't so great," said Boilesen. "We lost duels and second balls and the match was too much on their terms, but the rest of the game I think we were in good control.
"It was not our best performance but it doesn't always play out as you would like. But we still secured a 2-0 victory at home in the middle of a close fixture schedule with many matches, so we can only be satisfied with that.
"We have gradually maintained a high level for a long time, but we also have a strong squad and perform first and foremost as a team. We are good in the game without a ball and we have many options going forward, where we are both dangerous from the flanks and thought the middle, and on set pieces, so that way we are hard to read. It gives a good feeling."
Wind himself spoke of the near 18,000-strong crowd inside Parken for a Sunday afternoon match.
"It's really cool to feel the support we're getting from the fans at the moment, and more and more people are coming to the matches," Wind said.
"It was also great to score today, after I had a few chances and among other things hit the woodwork, but most importantly we won and even kept a clean sheet. So all in all it was a good match."
Wind and Mohamed Daramy celebrated FCK's second goal by showing a message to former team-mate Ahmed Daghim, who collapsed during a Kolding IF game on Saturday and who is recovering in hospital.
"The jersey? Several of us have played with 'Agger', so that's why Mo and I made these shirts so we could send him a message. It's also cool that the fans showed their support when a message came on the big screen."
As for Daramy, he delivered a man-of-the-match performance on the day FCK confirmed an agreement is in place with AFC Ajax over the potential transfer of the youngster to Amsterdam.
"Yes, of course I think about everything that's going on with transfer," said Daramy. "But I always try to keep my focus on the matches and our daily training, and I try to do everything I can to give my best for the team."
Next up for FCK is the UEFA Europa Conference League playoff second leg against Sivasspor in Parken on Thursday, where the Lions hold a 2-1 advantage from the first leg.
