Mukairu: My debut was an incredible experience
Paul Mukairu made his F.C. Copenajgen debut on Sunday, coming off the bench during the 2-0 win over OB in Parken.
And the January arrival says he was delighted with the reception he got from the home fans.
"It was great for me to make my debut and it was incredible to experience that atmosphere at the stadium," says Mukairu.
"I had heard beforehand from several people what it was like to play in Parken, but it was even wilder than I had imagined.
"I'm most of all happy that we won, but also very pleased with the way everyone has received me here, both in and around the club. People have been very friendly and nice, and helped me and the other new players from the beginning. It feels like I've already been here a year!
"I felt comfortable when I came onto the field. And I was really surprised by the great reception I received from the supporters.
"I had not expected that either. I just wanted to do my best for the team, and for all the many fans.
"It was impressive to see so many people in the stadium, even though the weather was so bad. So it was good that we could give them a victory."
Hard work ahead
Nigerian Mukairu made his debut in the 69th minute when he replaced William Bøving.
He was close to scoring too, and said of his performance: "It went well, I thought. I produced a couple of openings from my position on the left wing, but I just have to keep working hard and those things will drop into place.
"We all know we can do better as a team than we did last Sunday – and hopefully we will find each other better on the pitch next weekend."
Next up for FCK is a clash at Viborg FF at 4pm on Sunday, before the Lions host Randers at 8pm on Friday 4 March in Parken.
