Christian Engell leaves FCK
F.C. Copenhagen can today confirm Christian Engell, who has been responsible for the sports psychology department for the past two years, has left the club.
"Christian has been a dedicated member of staff every single day at Number 10, over a period of many changes both in the squad and in the staff at F.C. Copenhagen," says sporting director Peter Christiansen.
"With the change in the sporting setup, we have chosen to part ways now. We wish Christian all the best in the future and thank him once again for his great work on a daily basis."
Engell was hired as Head of People and Culture at F.C. Copenhagen on 1 December 2020, with responsibility for leading the sports psychology work at the club with reference to the sports management.
"My task for the past two years has been to ensure that the Nordic region's biggest club never stands still," says Engell.
"We had to constantly remain curious, brave and hungry. Together with good people, I succeed in that. But I fully understand that when a new head coach comes on board, it is completely normal that he wants to create his own team. I respect that. And all the best to Jacob Neestrup, the staff and the players."
Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen would like to thank Christian for his time at the club and wish him success in the future.
