Zeca: AGF will be a big challenge
Carlos Zeca says the F.C. Copenhagen players are ready to "show character" in Sunday's home SUperliga clash with AGF in Parken and secure a much-needed three points.
FCK return from the international break seeking to get off to a winning start with new head coach Jacob Neestrup in charge.
AGF are Sunday's visitors for the 6pm kick off. And Zeca expects his teammates to hit the ground running now the international break is over.
"It's a new start for us, and we need to secure a lot of points in the Superliga before the winter break," says Zeca.
"We have trained well here during the break and we expect a strong performance on Sunday, and most importantly a win. We all know we badly need points and everyone is very keen for our performances to be much better."
AGF a challenging opponent
The FCK captain also expects a fierce challenge from AGF, who sit fifth in the table.
"They will try to make it a difficult match for us, but we are ready to handle that and show character – particularly if we stick together as a team throughout," says Zeca.
"That means both defensively and offensively we must be better as a team. We have the individual qualities in the squad but we must be strong as a team if we are to get the points we need."
Neestrup is direct and demanding
Neestrup took over as FCK head coach during the international break, and Zeca hopes to deliver the win for the new boss on his debut this Sunday.
"Neestrup is a very direct and demanding coach who is not satisfied with less than 100 percent effort and concentration from everyone," says Zeca.
"At the same time, he's very honest and easy to talk to. We've had some really good training sessions and meetings over the last week, and he's the boss now, so we have to go out and give him, the fans and ourselves a good start to a new era on Sunday.”
