Neestrup: Not our best game, but we deserved three points
Jacob Neestrup says taking three points from a tricky encounter with Randers on Saturday was exactly what his F.C. Copenhagen side needed as the Lions made it five Superliga games without defeat.
Goals from Lukas Lerager and Mo Daramy secured the victory, leaving the boss delighted with the result.
"During this busy period, when we are under great pressure and have not been able to rotate much, it is strong to win over here against a good, physical Randers team," says Neestrup.
"It was a poor game of football and our worst offensive performance while I have been in charge. This is not how we want to perform, but the trend has otherwise been upwards, and I can easily live with us having a bump in the road like today, when we are still good at defending, and the win isn't undeserved.
"It was also the first time this autumn that I sensed that several players were a little heavy in the legs and were affected by the tight schedule. But we scored two great goals, the first in particular was top class. We have had a lot of focus on creating the chances to score, and you have to say that we did today with the two goals, because you can hardly miss scoring on them.
"Andreas Cornelius and William Clem came on after the break and made a difference, and with Corner up front they had something else to deal with and we could play better against their pressure with long balls. Rasmus Falk also came on at the end and did well, and helped to keep the ball a bit more and take the pressure off.
"Denis Vavro was also back and did excellently, and I'm very impressed with his performance after only training with him once. But we must also remember Valdemar (Lund), who has done excellent for us lately."
