Roony Bardghji extends his contract
Roony Bardghji has extended the contract with F.C. Copenhagen until the end of 2025.
Roony joined F.C. Copenhagen's Talent Department in 2020 and played for the U17 and U19 teams, before he made his first-team debut shortly after his 16th birthday. He became the club's youngest debutant and later also the youngest goalscorer in the Danish Superliga.
Now 17, the Swede is part of the first-team squad and has played 28 games for FCK.
Christiansen: Very satisfied with the new contract
"We are very satisfied with the new contract with Roony," says FCK sports director Peter Christiansen.
"He is undoubtedly a very big talent who already brings a lot to the team and the squad. It has been a very long process to reach this agreement, but now we are there."
Roony: Happy that we have reached an agreement
Bardghji himself is happy to have his future in place in Copenhagen.
"I have felt at home at FCK since the first day I came here," he says.
"The club has always taken good care of me and my family, and given me a perfect environment for my development as a player.
"They have shown me a lot of confidence at a very young age, and I have always been surrounded by very competent coaches, teammates and staff.
"I have always wanted to continue at FCK, and I am happy that we have reached an agreement, so I can take the next steps in my development here in Copenhagen.
"It's a dream for me to play for FCK and in Parken, and both the club and I have big ambitions to become even better.
"I look forward to working hard, because there is still a lot for me to improve.”
Neestrup: Very dedicated and professional
FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup is also delighted with the new agreement.
"He is a very big talent, who can already play a decisive role in matches at a high level," says Neestrup.
"This is mainly his own achievement, but there is no doubt that our Talent Department has given him the best possible support and challenges. And when he reached senior level, he was also trusted from day one.
"We look forward to continuing to work with Roony. He is very dedicated and professional about his football and his development, and I'm sure he can improve and reach an even higher level before he one day will continue his career somewhere out in the big world.”
