Gonçalves: Parken is fantastic!
New F.C. Copenhagen forward Diogo Gonçalves made his home debut in Sunday's 1-0 victory over AaB in front of 31,633 spectators in Parken – and it's fair to say he enjoyed the experience.
Discussing his first game in front of a packed home stadium, Gonçalves says: "Parken really is fantastic.
"I had seen videos and been told about the atmosphere, but it was really special to experience it myself. There was massive support from start to finish, and it gave us on the pitch a lot of energy.
"I've been lucky to play in big stadiums in my career, but Parken is honestly one of the best I've experienced in terms of the atmosphere. I am very much looking forward to playing there again."
'We've delivered two good performances'
Gonçalves has started both of FCK's Superliga fixtures this spring and says he's getting used to life in Copenhagen, and linking up with his teammates.
"It has gone well, I think. There are still things I need to improve in terms of building even stronger relationships on the pitch, but I think we've delivered two good performances in our own way," he says.
"I am very optimistic that we can become even stronger as a team and that I will get into the game even more and make my mark.
"Right now I'm working to learn and to help the team as best as possible, and we have two more home games this week where I hope to contribute to two more wins."
First up this week is Wednesday's Danish Cup clash with Vejle in Parken. That match kicks off at 8pm and tickets are still available.
The Lions then take on OB on Sunday (6:30pm kick off) with tickets for that clash selling fast.
