Neestrup fully focused on Cup clash
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup says he's fully focused on tonight's Danish Cup quarter-final with Vejle as the Lions seek to advance to the last four.
FCK carry a 2-0 lead into the second leg and Neestrup, whose site climbed to the top of the Danish Superliga at the weekend, insists they cannot take tonight's game for granted.
"We have respect for the challenge in front of us," says Neestrup. "Vejle are at Superliga level and they will do everything they can to make it difficult for us.
"We have to take control of the game and maintain the intensity we have played with all spring. If we do that, I am convinced we will be in the hat for the semis after the game.
"Vejle showed in Parken that they are a well organised team, but we managed to play without panicking, and we deserved to settle the match late on.
"I expect the match will play out similarly, with us mostly on the ball, so we have to play concentrated and patient football all the way to the last whistle.
"Our goal is to win the cup, and it's been far too long since we've been in the final. It's back in Parken this year, and so it's a prize we're all chasing."
Vejle vs FCK kicks off at 7:30pm tonight.
