Khocholava has operation

David Khocholava has undergone knee surgery and is likely to be out of action for the rest of the season.

The Georgian defender had been suffering pain after a number of collisions in recent games, and further examinations have shown that an operation is necessary.

"David has tried to fight through the problems he has had in recent matches, but we have jointly decided that an operation is now best for him, and then he will have a break so that he can recover," says FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup.

"It is of course a shame for David and the team, but the squad has shown again and again that others take responsibility when we get injuries."

Khocholava himself said: "I'm sorry that I can't help the team on the pitch in the near future, but I will do my best to support them off the pitch. I know their quality and know they will be strong."

Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen would like to wish David a speedy recovery.
