Hákon Arnar Haraldsson

F.C. Copenhagen sell Haraldsson

F.C. Copenhagen have sold Hákon Arnar Haraldsson to the French Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille. The Icelandic national team player changes club with immediate effect.

Haraldsson joined F.C. Copenhagen's Talent Department as a 16-year-old from Icelandic side ÍA Akranes and made his first-team debut in the summer of 2021.

Since then, he has made 58 first-team appearances for Lions, including six in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Christiansen: Logical that the interest has been great
"We are proud that we can send another talented player to Europe because he has developed and seized his opportunity on our stage at FCK," says sporting director Peter Christiansen.

"Hákon has gone from a young talent to a top player, and therefore it is logical that the interest in him has been great.

"The sale is also a result of our strategy, which gives young talented players confidence in a competitive environment with strong individuals around them, and who trust that they can help us achieve our goals.

"Hákon has done that in an exemplary manner, and that is why he now gets this opportunity. We look forward to following him at Lille and wish him all the best in the future.”

Haraldsson: I've had a great time here
Haraldsson was named Player of the Year in Iceland last season and is a regular in the Iceland national side.

"It's hard to say goodbye – or maybe see you again – to FCK," says Haraldsson.

"I've had a great time here and the club has given me the chance to break through and to take the opportunity that has now arisen. I'm grateful for that.

"I also owe a thank you to all the teammates, coaches and staff members who have helped to develop me – and not least to the fans who have supported me from the start.

"Now I'm looking forward to trying my hand in a new league and club, but I will definitely always follow FCK, regardless of where I am.”

Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen would like to wish Hákon all the best in the future.
