Breidablik 0-2 FCK: Reaction

F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup says the 2-0 win over Breidablik in the first leg of the Lions' UEFA Champions League second qualifying round was well deserved.

FCK took the lead in the first minute through Jordan Larsson and doubled it before the break when Rasmus Falk linked up neatly with Larsson to find the net.

New signing Elias Achouri also earned his FCK debut off the bench and Neestrup was pleased to take a lead into the second leg next week.

"We got off to a perfect start with Jordan's goal in the first minute, and in general we controlled the first half well, with Falk scoring a really nice goal after link-up with Jordan," said Neestrup.

“"In the second half we didn't have as good control, and Breidablik showed that they are a good team that never give up. But we were well prepared for them, and there was nothing that surprised us in the way they played.

"You might say that we had a slightly atypical FCK team today, in the sense that we didn't have that many tall players, and of course they tried to exploit that in the air.

"On the other hand, we also set up some nice attacks with quick play along the ground, and all in all, the win was completely deserved."

Larsson was withdrawn for Icelander Orri Óskarsson on 70 minutes and Neestrup had an update on the forward.

"Fortunately it wasn't an injury that took Jordan out of the game, but cramp. We saw Achouri in the second half and it was also planned for him to come on, and we saw a couple of times how much speed he brings," added Neestrup.

"So all in all we got what we came for, but we haven't been singing victory songs in the dressing room because there's still work to be done in Parken in a week's time. It will be a completely different atmosphere, but it was also a nice place to play today, where their fans created a good atmosphere together with our own.

"Now we have to hurry home, and we will get working on Thursday with intent, looking forward to the Vejle game on Saturday."
