Falk: Brøndby clash just another big game
Rasmus Falk says the key to F.C. Copenhagen winning Sunday's derby against Brøndby on Sunday will be to dictate the game on the Lions' terms.
Jacob Neestrup's side take on BIF in the first Copenhagen derby of the season.
FCK lead Brøndby by a point at the top of the Danish Superliga, and Falk is looking forward to targeting another victory in Brøndby Stadium.
"It will be a great match – among many of the great matches we're experiencing at the moment," says Falk.
"Of course we're going out there to get three points and we'll do everything we can to make it happen.
"It will be a game with lots of intensity between two teams that are at the top. These are always matches with a lot of fight and a lot of individual battles, but I also hope that our talented players will be on show and we win the match on our terms."
More big games this autumn
The Brøndby clash comes after a week in which FCK played Galatasaray in the Champions League and drew 2-2 with FC Nordsjælland.
There is also the opening round of the Cup to contend with next week, before a Superliga showdown with FC Midtjylland and a home Champions League game against Bayern Munich.
"It's great that there are many big challenges for us right now, and we enjoy playing many matches," says Falk.
"We are in a rhythm and a zone where it's always about being ready for the next big game. Fortunately we are in the habit of doing this at F.C. Copenhagen, so we are ready for it.
"We know how to work (in this schedule) and we have a lot of people around us who help optimise things for us, so it's just about performing when we're on the pitch."
Derby no. 25
Falk will appear in his 25th Copenhagen derby on Sunday if he is selected to play. He has scored just once – the winning goal in the 3-2 victory in the spring of 2019.
Not only did that goal ensure FCK won all four derbies that season, it also secured the Lions the championship with three games left in the season.
