Neestrup reacts to 2-0 loss to FCM

Jacob Neestrup admits his F.C. Copenhagen team lacked rhythm in the 2-0 defeat to FC Midtjylland on Saturday, but is confident the Lions can bounce back fast.

The defeat is FCK's second in the Danish Superliga this term but the team remain top of the table after 10 rounds of matches.

On Tuesday FCK welcome Bayern Munich to Parken for the first Champions League home group game of the campaign.

Reflecting on Saturday's defeat, which saw a number of stoppages and, sadly, a spectator from the Lower C stand receiving medical treatment in the second half, Neestrup says: "It was probably the match that has lacked the most rhythm that I've been involved in.

"But I just have to say that Midtjylland played smarter than us in a match that was otherwise very even, and where we had the upper hand in the game but just didn't create big chances.

"When there was finally some rhythm in the match we didn't play with enough quality, so it's a mixture of many things that have resulted in this finish.

"When we cannot win such a game, which we were far from doing today, then we must be able to keep a clean sheet. But both individually and collectively we broke some of our own rules with their two goals, we didn't have enough to earn that minimum one point.

"Of course the defence is a concern at the moment but today it was also several other things, like us not creating enough chances and not getting more rhythm in the game."

Attention now turns to the Champions League and a special night in Parken to come.

"The pitch was not good, and we would have liked to have been in Parken and training on it beforehand, but unfortunately that was not possible," says Neestrup.

"But that is not an excuse for the fact that Saturday's game went the way it did, and now we at least have that advantage on Tuesday that we know how the pitch is."
