Falk: We're handling domestic and Champions League games well
F.C. Copenhagen midfielder Rasmus Falk says the squad has got into its groove of playing regular midweek games in the Champions League while also betting it out at the top of the Danish Superliga.
The Lions have effectively been playing regular midweek games since July when Champions League qualification began.
On Saturday FCK take on Hvidovre in Parken just four days after narrowly losing to Manchester United in the Champions League at Old Trafford.
And Falk insists the squad is ready to pick up their good form in the Danish capital.
"Of course we're favourites but we all know that there are no free games in the Superliga, and we have seen Hvidovre be competitive in virtually all games," says Falk.
"They are hard working and have some good players who will give everything to give us a difficult game, so we go into the match with a lot of respect for the opposition and the importance of three points at stake, because it is close in the Superliga."
Returning to Parken
This is the Lions' third game in a week, having faced Vejle last weekend and played in Manchester on Tuesday. Falk played in 90 minutes in both outings and is looking forward to another Parken showdown on Saturday.
"I think as a squad we have handled the schedule well, with the matches in Europe and in the Superliga. We are at FCK to play many important matches, so everyone is ready when they are needed. We have a really broad squad with lots of quality," says Falk.
"This means the coach can adjust from match to match, and perhaps especially during games where we have seen that those who come on can decide games from the bench.
"Parken is always something special and gives us all a boost. It is a motivation in itself to give our fans a good experience, not least as a thank you for the support we get match after match, and most recently in Manchester. They help give us a lot of energy and we will show that on Saturday."
Targeting three points
FCK head into Saturday's game with Hvidovre as league leaders in the Danish top flight, sitting a point ahead of both Silkeborg and Brøndby.
And Falk is eyeing nothing less than three points in Parken.
"We must take control of the game from the start," he says. "Defensively, Hvidovre will be compact in their organisation and go for it in one-on-one battles, so we have to keep a high tempo and be intense in our pressure.
"If we succeeded in that, then we know that we are strong. I expect us to have a lot of possession, but it suits us with the kind of players we have in the squad, regardless of who is on the pitch. It's the three points that count and we will chase victory from start to finish."
