Kamil Grabara named Best Goalkeeper in Danish Football 2023
F.C. Copenhagen's Kamil Grabara has been named the Best Goalkeeper in Danish Football for 2023 after another stellar year with the Lions.
It is the second time the Polish goalkeeper has won the award, which TIPSBLADET have handed out every year since 1984.
Grabara gained the most number of votes from among his fellow goalkeepers in the Superliga and 1st Division. In 2022 he earned 37 voting points, while this year he claimed 57 of the 69 possible points available.
'I didn't expect to win'
"I'm of course happy about the award, because it means that my colleagues have recognised my work, but I don't think I was as good as last year, when I also won it," says Kamil Grabara.
"That's why I can honestly say that I didn't expect to win.
"I have - especially in the current season - conceded too many goals. We as a team have conceded too many goals for a club like F.C. Copenhagen. I don't want to be the type to shirk my share of the responsibility for that, because I bear a great deal of responsibility. I know that this prize is awarded on the basis of an entire calendar year but the past half-year has not been entirely satisfactory for me at least."
Third FCK goalkeeper with multiple awards
Former FCK goalkeepers who have also won the award multiple times are Jesper Christiansen in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and Johan Wiland in 2010 and 2011. Robin Olsen won the award in 2016 and Kalle Johnsson in 2020.
