Achouri: I know I can get even better
Elias Achouri got on the scoresheet and provided an assist in the 2-0 win over FC Nordsjælland on Monday. The Tunisian is preparing for Friday's clash with FC Nordsjælland and spoke to FCK.dk about his recent uplift in form.
"We were happy with the performance against FCN and to win 2-0 against a difficult opponent," he said after Wednesday's training at Frederiksberg.
"Of course I'm happy with the goal and the assist, and helping the team in that way. The most important thing, however, is that we win these games. If I help by scoring or assisting, I'm happy to do it."
Looking for more improvements
The lightning-fast winger has so far contributed 10 assists and scored five goals in his 30 games for the Lions, but he is never one to celebrate too wildly.
"I know that my reaction to scoring on Monday wasn't the biggest, but I feel a little that it was my duty. It's my job is to score.
"I haven't been completely satisfied with my performances after the AFCON and I'm demanding more from myself. It certainly doesn't mean I'm not happy to score goals, but I want to be better and I know I can do the better.
"I might have to practice not being so hard on myself, because I'm still one of the most decisive players in the league based on goals and assists. But I know I can do better. It's what drives me every day and has brought me to where I am today. But I have to remember to enjoy things even more than I sometimes do."
Three points the target on Friday
Achouri is now looking towards Friday's clash with FCM before attention turns back to the Champions League next week.
"It's a very big, important match as we'll go there to win," he said. "We have confidence, and we should have that too, because we have the best team in Denmark. I say that with the greatest respect for the other teams, but we have the best players and we must show that on the field."
