Isak Johannesson

Jóhannesson sold to Fortuna Düsseldorf

F.C. Copenhagen have sold Ísak Bergmann Jóhannesson to German 2. Bundesliga club Fortuna Düsseldorf, who have made use of the clause inserted in their loan agreement last season.

"Ísak has in many ways been a really good acquaintance for F.C. Copenhagen, where he has shown his talent and always worked hard to develop," says FCK sporting director Peter Christiansen.

"He played a significant role in our championship in 2022 and has been a great team player and professional during his time in Copenhagen. But sometimes it takes a different environment for things to be fully resolved, and we are happy that together we have found a solution that suits both Ísak and FCK well.

"We wish him all the best in German football, where he has done well."

The 21-year-old Icelander has been on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf for the past season and leaves FCK after playing 61 games and scored seven goals for the Lions.

"I have learned a lot during my time at F.C. Copenhagen, which is a fantastic club that I have been proud to represent," says Jóhannesson.

"Now I look forward to continuing my development in Düsseldorf, where I have had a really positive season and have settled in really well. It is a club with ambitions to get back into the Bundesliga, and I look forward to being a part of that.

“I would like to thank everyone in and around FCK for our time together, which I will always look back on with pleasure.”

Everyone at FCK would like to thank Ísak for his efforts for the club and wish him the best of luck in the future.
