Elias Achouri extends F.C. Copenhagen contract
F.C. Copenhagen's Elias Achouri has signed a new agreement at the club, which now runs until the summer of 2028.
The 25-year-old Tunisian contributed 16 assists and scored five goals in just 44 games for FCK last season. After just one year in the Danish capital, Achouri has settled in well at both the club and the city.
"I'm really happy about this extension and I'm looking forward to continuing my story here at F.C. Copenhagen," says Achouri.
"It means a lot to me to play at a big club like FCK. I'm having a great time in the city and I love the club, my teammates and the coaches, who help me improve every single day.
"It may sound a bit cliché but I have a really good time here at the club and I love playing in a full Parken.
"I appreciate that the club has wanted to extend my contract, and I can feel that the club wants me. Of course, I also have personal goals with my extension – namely to constantly improve and win the championship."
Sune: We want to reward Achouri
The Tunisia international joined F.C. Copenhagen in the summer of 2023 from Viborg FF, who had previously bought him from Portuguese side Estoril, and Achouri has quickly become a presence in the F.C. Copenhagen team.
"Elias is a big, offensive player and we are very happy and proud that he is extending his agreement with F.C. Copenhagen," says sporting director Sune Smith-Nielsen.
"We know about his end product with the many assists he has contributed, and his influence across the team. He is a player who we believe is a strong asset in the fight for the Danish championship.
"It has been important for us as a club to reward him for a good season in which he showed high class both in the Superliga and in our European matches. At the same time, he is happy at extending his contract and has a great desire to be able to improve in our environment."
Neestrup: Elias is a pleasure to work with
Head coach Jacob Neestrup also praises to the winding winger, who left big impression on the boss last season.
"Elias had an incredibly strong first season, where he showed from the first day that he enjoys playing at F.C. Copenhagen. He has performed well both in the Superliga and in Europe, and he has a unique ability to create chances.
"It is a pleasure to work with a player who is so positive in his attitude to improve himself, his teammates and the team. He is well liked in the squad and also takes responsibility for others.
"Elias has had a difficult start with a few injury challenges, so we are very much looking forward to getting him fully up to speed again and at the same time making him even more dangerous in front of goal - something that he also wants to improve himself."
