New agreement for Danish national team matches in Parken
The Danish FA (DBU) and F.C. Copenhagen have come to a new agreement to stage Danish national team matches in Parken Stadium until at least the summer of 2028.
Parken will continue to be the home ground of the Denmark's men's national team, and the new agreement also opens up the possibility for the Women's national team to play in Parken. At the same time, the agreement includes closer cooperation on Parken's new exclusive lounge areas.
Parken and the former Copenhagen Idrætspark has more than 100 years been the national stadium for the Danish football, and now fans can look forward to more magical evenings in Parken.
The agreement includes improved finances for both parties through a special collaboration across Parken's new facilities, as the lounge areas in the A Stand have undergone extensive modernisation to meet international standards. With the new agreement, the DBU will have access into Parken's most exclusive lounges for international matches.
The agreement also allows the Men's national team to play one home match a year at another stadium, while F.C. Copenhagen also has the opportunity to continue holding concerts in Parken.
“Parken as the Men's national team's home ground is iconic among Danes," says DBU CEO Erik Brøgger Rasmussen. "There have been many unforgettable experiences over the years and it's continued in recent years with sold-out matches for every game.
"At the same time, we are very happy that with the agreement the Men's national team can also play in the rest of the country, and that the Women's national team has the opportunity to play in Parken."
Denmark's Men's national team's matches in Parken have been sold out for 16 of the last 18 games. Most recently, the quarter-final against Portugal in the Nations League in March sold out in less than two hours.
At F.C. Copenhagen, CEO Jacob Lauesen is also pleased that Parken will continue to welcome thousands of Danish fans for international matches.
“We are very happy to continue the strong tradition of staging international matches in Parken, and we are proud to provide the backdrop for Denmark's biggest national celebrations," he says.
"At the same time, we are very satisfied that we and the DBU have found a model that takes into account the future development of Parken and ensures that the new lounge facilities will play a central role in our collaboration."
The two parties also agree that Parken will be part of the Danish-Swedish bid for the 2029 UEFA Women's Championship.
