Defeat in Viborg as Superliga enters Championship Round

F.C. Copenhagen suffered a 3-2 defeat in Viborg on Sunday in the last round of the regular season before the Danish Superliga splits in two.

Giorgi Gocholeishvili and Jordan Larsson had put the Lions two up at the break, before the hosts hit back in the second half to claim all three points.

FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup was obviously a disappointed man after Sunday's loss and said: "It is of course extremely disappointing. We had a poor performance in the second half after a very controlled first half. We were extremely passive in the opening of the second half, when they reduce it to 2-1. It can't happen that we are played around so easily, and we almost invited them to play and run into the box.

"We defended poorly from two corners and it became very difficult from there, even though we had a few opportunities to equalise - but the second half was far, far, far from good enough."

The Danish Superliga now takes a pause for the international break, during which time FCK's remaining 10 matches of the season will be released.

The Lions will once again compete in the Championship Round, where Denmark's top six teams play home and away against each other to determine the title.

FCK sit second in the table, four points off league leaders FC Midtjylland. The other teams in the top six are AGF, Randers, FC Nordsjælland and Brøndby. We will provide ticket updates for our remaining home games this spring when the fixtures are released.
