Kevin Diks

Diks: Time to focus on rest of season

Kevin Diks is moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer but the F.C. Copenhagen defender still has ambitions to fulfil in Denmark before he heads to the Bundesliga.

Diks has agreed terms to join Mönchengladbach at the end of the season, meaning he will be available for FCK in the Danish Superliga title race, the Danish Cup, and the UEFA Conference League knockouts.

"I think it makes it much easier for me to focus now that we don't have it hanging over our heads at the end of the season or some time in March or April," says Diks.

"I think it's better for everyone that it's clear what's going to happen. And I can now focus 100% on F.C. Copenhagen and on finishing in a really good way.

"That's really the most important thing for me right now, because I want to finish with trophies here and leave in the best possible way."

The FCK squad is currently training in La Manga, Spain and on Friday morning have another session on the training pitch, before weekend friendly matches against Silkeborg and Elche await.

The Danish season doesn't restart until 13 February but Diks is already looking forward to getting back underway.

"I think we're on a really good path," says Diks.

"We've been training really, really hard. Today was a bit more about refreshing ourselves because we had a tough training session yesterday (Wednesday), but I think we've completed all our training sessions in a really good way, and we've worked on improving the things we needed to do better.

"Everyone is positive, and there's a really good harmony and atmosphere in the team, and that's very important."
