F.C. Copenhagen sign Diant Ramaj on loan

F.C. Copenhagen have signed 23-year-old German goalkeeper Diant Ramaj from Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.

Sune: Diant arrives with high quality
"Diant arrives with the quality we have been looking for. He is a goalkeeper with strong character, quick reacting and is good with his feet. We have had a lot of focus on getting a new first-choice goalkeeper in place. Now we will get a strong goalkeeper who can be crucial to winning the Danish championship this summer," says F.C. Copenhagen's sporting director, Sune Smith-Nielsen.

"It has required a lot of patience to put this puzzle together, and we are very happy that it has fallen into place. Initially, we have settled on a loan agreement until the summer, and then we will sit down and talk further about the possibilities. We have had a really good dialogue with Dortmund, Diant and his backroom team.”

Ramaj: Looking forward to working with the team
Ramaj will be on the FCK training pitch with the rest of the team on Wednesday.

“I am really looking forward to coming to Copenhagen and starting work with the team and the coaches,” he says. ‘I have followed F.C. Copenhagen in recent years, and I know how big a club it is. It will be huge to play matches in Parken, which I have seen and heard so much about, and the fans can look forward to seeing me.

“I have been looking for an international club where I could be the first-choice goalkeeper. With my qualities, I believe that I will play every time, and therefore this solution is also absolutely perfect for me. Here is a very clear and distinct objective: we must win the Danish championship this summer, and I must promise that I will do my best to make it happen.”

Neestrup: Strong first choice in goal
Head coach Jacob Neestrup has searched for a clear first-choice goalkeeper for F.C. Copenhagen. That search has now resulted in Ramaj’s arrival.

“We have been looking for a strong first-choice keeper,” he says. “We now have that, and I am very happy about that. All references point to very high quality, and we have seen him ourselves several times, so we have no doubt that he will add an extra level to us.

“Diant is a quick-reacting and courageous goalkeeper with a great skill set. He can contribute to our build-up game because he is so good with his feet, and at the same time he is very professional. He likes to set high standards and places high demands on his teammates.”

Diant Ramaj will arrive in Copenhagen on Wednesday.
