F.C. Copenhagen enter into national partnership with the Red Cross

F.C. Copenhagen and the Red Cross will launch a new three-year partnership at Monday's upcoming home game against AaB. The purpose of the partnership is to take joint responsibility for societal challenges, develop joint activities and contribute to the recruitment of volunteers for the Red Cross' large national fundraiser on 6 October.

F.C. Copenhagen and the Red Cross share a desire to increase involvement in the Red Cross and the necessary efforts locally, nationally and internationally that support vulnerable children and adults. With a three-year strategic partnership, F.C. Copenhagen and the Red Cross are coming together to take on an increased responsibility across society.

"When we say that 'We Are Copenhagen', it is absolutely crucial that we also put action behind our words, and we want to take responsibility. For some years we have had excellent cooperation with the Red Cross Capital branch on Christmas Eve in Parken, where we have supported vulnerable people. Now we are expanding this cooperation and increasing our commitment to the Red Cross," says F.C. Copenhagen's commercial director, Mikkel Grove Lindsted.

To date, F.C. Copenhagen have had a collaboration with the Red Cross Capital branch that focuses on the Danish capital. The club offered a collection point for clothes and a special Christmas evening in Parken, with participation from the playing squad. Now the cooperation is being expanded from a local commitment to a national partnership, where the focus will be on putting each other's resources into play for the benefit of each other.

"We are very happy about the agreement with F.C. Copenhagen. It means a lot to us that such a large club with such a large reach stands behind the Red Cross. Our partnership will strengthen both F.C. Copenhagen and the Red Cross' relations with Danes, and support the common purpose of being 'Together in the City'. Together, we take an active responsibility for people who are in vulnerable situations," says Anders Ladekarl, secretary general at the Red Cross.

The new partnership offers, among other things, fundraising activities in and around Parken, donation opportunities when purchasing merchandise, auctions, clothing collections, FCK clothing in Red Cross stores, and football experiences for vulnerable families. The parties have an ambition to raise a significant amount that can make a difference in the Red Cross' work.

Thirty children and adults from the Red Cross' social projects have already enjoyed a special experience in one of the Parken sky boxes, during the recent AGF match.

The partnership officially kicks off at our home match against AaB on Monday 23 September, with a visit from the Red Cross' general secretary and a focus on the Red Cross' large national fundraiser on Sunday 6 October.

At the match, it will be possible to donate to the Red Cross' efforts and sign up as a fundraiser for the big collection day.
