Neestrup reflects on 0-0 draw at AaB
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup says the Lions' display in Sunday's 0-0 draw to AaB lacked the killer blow but praised the team for their control of the game.
The Superliga leaders made it four games unbeaten with the goalless result in Aalborg – yet Neestrup was left wishing for three points.
"Apart from the first 10 minutes of both halves, we were in good control and had good balance, but we didn't create enough chances at all today," said Neestrup afterwards.
"We didn't hit our level in the final part of the pitch, and we didn't create enough openings in the box. When we did, we lacked the final sharpness and quality.
"We made too many wrong decisions in the final phase, but still got two or three big chances. We should have been able to strike, but we didn't manage to do that. Huescas had a great shot that was blocked, Delaney had one, and then Claesson had a huge chance to decide it all at the very end.
"AaB also had two or three big chances – the one at the beginning where Ramaj saved and then the one at the beginning of the second half where they shot wide. There was another shot where the ball hit Gabriel and bounced wide.
"All in all, I wouldn't call it a bad effort, but a weak effort in terms of creating chances. Of course we are disappointed that we didn't manage to bring all three points home to Copenhagen."
Next up for FCK is Thursday's UEFA Europa Conference League last-16 clash against Chelsea in Parken. The first leg kicks off at 9pm with only a handful of hospitality tickets remaining for the game.
