Bengtsson signs for Djurgaardens IF
F.C. Copenhagen have agreed the sale of Pierre Bengtsson to Djurgaardens IF, half a season before the Sweden full-back's contract expires.
Bengtsson, 33, played 284 matches for FCK between 2011 and 2014, and then from 2017 until now. Only three players have played more games for the club (William Kvist, Hjalte Norregaard and Mathias Zanka Jorgensen).
"We bid farewell to a very well-liked and professional person, who has an impressive history at F.C. Copenhagen," says FCK sporting director Peter Christiansen.
"Pierre is a real team player, who has always given his best to the club in both matches and training. He was a regular for most of his first stay with us, and even after he returned in 2017 has played many matches as a solid and reliable left-back."
Bengtsson says he is looking forward to the new challenges in Sweden and taking with him many good memories from his years in Copenhagen.
"I am proud to be the foreign player with the most appearances for the club, where there is always tough competition for all positions," says Bengtsson, who made his debut for FCK in the Champions League against Chelsea in February 2011
"With three championships and two cups, I can also look back on several good sporting successes.
"I wish FCK and the fans all the best for the future, and I hope there will be an opportunity to visit Parken and say goodbye and thank you all."
Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen wishes Pierre good luck in his further career.
