Inches from the title after win at Randers!
F.C. Copenhagen are close to securing the Danish Superliga title after a 2-0 victory at Randers left the Lions six points clear at the top of the table.
Hákon Haraldsson and Khouma Babacar found the net for FCK, while Kamil Grabara saved a penalty during a dramatic outing in Jutland.
The three points means Jess Thorup’s men are now six points clear of FC Midtjylland with one game – a home clash against AaB on Sunday – remaining. FCM must beat Silkeborg in their game in hand on Monday to keep the title race alive, although the Lions would then head into the final weekend with a three-point lead and likely a superior goal difference.
There were scenes of jubilation from the FCK bench and in the away end at full time as the players took a giant step towards the title.
Around 2,500 FCK supporters were at Sunday’s game – and the club expects Parken Stadium to be a sell-out next weekend.
