Neestrup: A reward for our fans
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup dedicated Sunday's 7-0 win over OB to the fans who once again packed Parken Stadium and raised the roof for the players.
Diogo Gonçalves bagged the opener, Lukas Lerager and Mohamed Daramy scored twice apiece, and Rasmus Falk and Hákon Haraldsson added to the scoreline in the Danish capital.
"It was great to be able to give the fans a win again with the fantastic support we always get in here," says Neestrup.
"We have a very good football team, and the players showed again today that they want to constantly attack and score goals, and that is really one of the things I am most satisfied with.
"We also talked at half-time about going out and continuing to score more goals, because we also have a goal score to think about. But the win is still only three points and we are still lagging behind because we made it difficult for ourselves at the start of the season.
"It is clear that OB suffered a hard fate with two red cards, because that made it very difficult to play here against us, but I already thought that were good when it was 11 vs 11. We were also like that against AaB a week ago, when we just needed to put our chances away. We succeeded to the max today, and I think that the trend is clearly pointing upwards in terms of creating chances.
"A player like Mo Daramy naturally catches the eye today, and in recent games he has been at a level that is far above what you otherwise see in the Superliga, so it's just a matter of enjoying it as long as we have him. But he can do that too because we have a strong collective that supports individual talents."
Next up for FCK is a Sunday trip to Horsens, before the Lions welcome Viborg to Parken on 19 March at 3pm. Tickets are still available for that, which marks the end of the regular season before the Danish Superliga splits into the Championship Round.
