Orri Óskarsson joins SønderjyskE on loan
F.C. Copenhagen have loaned Orri Óskarsson to Nordic Bet Liga side SønderjyskE until the summer.
The Icelandic striker joins SønderjyskE ahead of the second half of the Danish domestic season.
'A lot of potential'
"Orri has a lot of potential, but he needs to play a lot of senior football at a good level to continue his development," says FCK sporting director Peter Christiansen.
"SønderjyskE is a good match, as he'll become part of an ambitious and well-run setup and has better opportunities to get many playing minutes.
"We look forward to following his progress during his stay at SønderjyskE before he returns to us this summer."
Neestrup on loan deal
FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup believes the loan deal will help Óskarsson develop further.
"We believe a lot in Orri's potential," says Neestrup.
"Together with him, we have decided that it is best for all parties that he heads out to play at a good level under a good coach and in a good environment.
"We both hope and expect that he will develop well and come back to us even stronger this summer."
Oskarsson: 'I want to work hard'
As for the striker himself, he sees the move to SønderjyskE as an important step in his career.
"I'm looking forward to trying my hand at a new club," says Óskarsson.
"I want to work hard to contribute and develop myself at Sønderjyske before I return to Copenhagen again. I see it as a really positive solution for me personally and I'm looking forward to getting started."
Óskarsson has played nine games and scored one goal so far in the FCK shirt at senior level, and was previously top scorer and a Danish champion with both the U17 and U19 teams.
