Portugal training camp cancelled
F.C. Copenhagen's planned winter training camp to Portugal has been cancelled after the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised against all travel until 17 January.
The club planned to head to the Algarve for a training camp between 16 and 28 January. However, Jess Thorup's men will now prepare for the spring half of the 3F Superliga season in Denmark instead.
"The situation concerning Covid-19 is serious all over the world, and we naturally listen to the authorities in such a situation, everything else would be irresponsible," says William Kvist.
"Therefore, we will not be travelling to Portugal while the recommendations are as clear as they are now. We are instead working to implement our camp in Denmark.
"Of course it's a shame from a sporting point of view, but we all owe it to each other to fight the infection and help the health authorities by following their recommendations."
Winter training will therefore either take place on FCK's own pitches or at a training camp in Denmark.
We have tentatively planned a training match against Hvidovre IF on Friday 15 January, at 11am, which you can stream on our Facebook page.
The Lions return to Superliga action on Wednesday 3 February with an away match against AaB.
